Luca is an upcoming 2021 American computer-animated coming-of-age comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is directed by Enrico Casarosa (in his feature directorial debut) and produced by Andrea Warren.

Luca is scheduled to be released on June 18, 2021.


The short alongside the film will be a re-rendered version of the 1989 Pixar film Knick Knack.

Premise

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, the original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: he is a sea monster from another world just below the water’s surface.[1]
